The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the sweeping changes within the Federal Ministry of Interior as a “civilian revolution,” citing its transformative impact on key sectors.

In a statement issued by Rivers APC Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, the party hailed the Ministry’s achievements as unparalleled, asserting that its performance under President Bola Tinubu-led administration has set a benchmark for public officeholders across Nigeria.

“The Interior Ministry has delivered tangible and visible results that are nothing short of revolutionary,” Nwauju said.

“Under Dr. Tunji-Ojo, the Ministry has undergone a transformation not seen since 1999, turning it from what was once derided as the ‘Ministry for Holiday Affairs’ into a national and international reference point for excellence.”

The statement highlighted several milestones achieved by the Ministry, including the promotion of over 50,000 paramilitary officers across its agencies, the rehabilitation of correctional centres, and the remodeling of the Fire Service Academy.

It also applauded the launch of initiatives such as the contactless biometric passports, deployment of over 40 e-gates at major international airports, and the establishment of a Command-and-Control Centre to enhance internal security.

“These are concrete results that not only improve morale within the paramilitary services but also deliver better service to Nigerians.

“The introduction of enhanced e-passport facilities and the Safe School Initiative are just a few examples of the Ministry’s commitment to innovation and excellence,” Nwauju added.

According to Nwauju, the Ministry’s remarkable performance has been achieved through strategic planning, teamwork, and the effective use of public-private partnerships, all while keeping costs to the government minimal.

“The leadership of Dr. Tunji-Ojo has demonstrated that youth and patriotism are critical in delivering results.

His work has set a standard for public officeholders, showcasing what can be achieved when competence meets commitment,” he said.

The Rivers APC also noted that the Ministry’s success provides a strong campaign material for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“In less than two years, the Interior Ministry has surpassed expectations, delivering results that many thought were impossible,” the statement read.

The party called on Nigerians to take note of these achievements, urging citizens to support the Ministry’s continued efforts to improve internal security, border management, and public service delivery.

“This is the kind of progress Nigerians deserve, and we are proud that the Ministry of Interior is leading the way,” Nwauju concluded.
