Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, alongside other dignitaries, yesterday attended the official launch of a book titled ‘Deputising and Governance in Nigeria’, written by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State.
The event, which took place at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was the special guest of honour and former President Goodluck Jonathan who chaired the event.
Other special guests included the All Progressives Congress (APC) vice presidential candidate, Sen Kashim Shettima, who stood in for his principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former governors, deputy governors, ministers, national and states legislators, top-notch politicians, members of the academia, traditional rulers and community leaders among others.
Former INEC chairman, Prof Attahiru Jega, who reviewed the 355- page book, noted that the author had indeed taken a cursory look at the Nigeria’s contemporary political history which is replete with tales of incumbent/ deputy face-offs that have occurred at national, sub-national as well as at local council levels, just as he proffered the best ways to manage relationships in governance.
