The lead pastor of the Glorious Destiny Family Church in Borokiri, Port Harcourt, Pastor Akeem Idoniboye, has called on Christians to invest in people as a sign of their love for God.

Idoniboye made the call yesterday while speaking during a leadership class, organised for leaders and workers of the church with the theme: “Integrity: The Essence of Leadership”.

The cleric stated that God does not make a leader for the leader’s sake, but He makes a leader to feed the people, adding that anyone who lacks integrity cannot claim to be a leader.

He said, “God does not make a leader for the leader’s sake, but God makes a leader to feed the people. The way to prove that you love God is to invest in people. If you lack integrity, you cannot claim to be feeding the people.

“You can’t claim to be a leader if you lack integrity of the heart and skillfulness of the heart. The first currency of true leadership is integrity.”

Reminding Christians that integrity is not a gift, but a sound decision one works on, Idoniboye admonished them not to back down in their efforts to uphold integrity even if mocked.

He said: “If you are afraid of people laughing at you, you will not improve. Integrity is not a gift, it is a sound decision you work on.

If you don’t live by any principle in life, you will not become a principal.”
