Dimanche used the forum and acknowledged the state government’s proactive approach to humanitarian response and community recovery.

Dimanche reassured the IOM’s continued support for Yobe’s recovery agenda and efforts to improve the livelihoods of its people.

Governor Buni has while responding, reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the IOM to strengthen the state’s resettlement, reconstruction, and recovery initiatives.

He further said the Yobe State government has developed a comprehensive State Policy on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to sustainably address displacement challenges.

Buni has equally stated that the government has as part of its commitment, earmarked five per cent of its annual budget to support infrastructure development and facilitate the dignified reintegration of displaced people.

“Our administration has invested heavily in education, agriculture, healthcare, roads, electricity, and water supply to fast-track the recovery and long-term stability of our people.

“l am happy this has worked for us, and we do not have an IDP camp in the state as our displaced persons have been resettled with dignity, which has become a point of reference,” the governor said.
