In response to the delayed and inadequate rainfall across parts of Bauchi State, a renowned Islamic cleric, Malam Yahaya Mai Tauhidi, has led hundreds of Muslim faithful in a solemn prayer session, seeking divine intervention.
Held in the open with a large turnout that included women, children, youths and the elderly, the prayer was a heartfelt call for mercy amid growing concerns over the impact of the dry spell on farming and livelihoods.
Malam Yahaya lamented that although the rainy season has begun, the persistent absence of rain in many areas continues to pose a major challenge to agriculture and food security.
He urged the community to return to the path of righteousness, stressing that reconnecting with Allah and abandoning sinful acts are key to overcoming the adversity.
He called on all believers not to relent in their prayers, noting that sincere supplication remains a powerful tool in seeking divine favour during such trying times.
Our correspondent reports that the prayer session reflected a deep communal anxiety and hope, as the people united in faith for rainfall and relief.
