The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Nigeria, has concluded its 71st Jalsa Salana (Annual Conference), with a call for unity within the Muslim Ummah.
The three-day conference held at Jamia Ahmadiyya in Ilaro, Ogun State, under the leadership of Barrister Alatoye Folorunso Azeez (Amir) brought together 35,771 delegates from Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Equatorial Guinea, with many more joining online from across the globe.
The central theme of this year’s spiritually uplifting gathering was “And Hold Fast, All Together, By The Rope of Allah And Be Not Divided…” (Qur’an 3:104), a powerful call for unity within the Muslim Ummah.
Over the three-day programme, six lectures were delivered by eminent scholars. Professor Sa’eed Timehin presented the main address, “Unity is Strength: Lessons from Islamic History As A Guide to Current Global Challenges to Muslim Ummah,” while Professor Mashhud Adenrele Fashola concluded with “Modern Day Evidence for The Existence of Allah.”
Key resolutions and observations from the conference included a profound expression of gratitude to Allah, a reaffirmation of faith, and the belief that sincere reliance on Allah (Tawakkul) offers the ultimate solution to global challenges such as insecurity, moral decline, and economic hardship. The importance of unity among Muslims as a divine command and a source of strength was strongly emphasised, with divisions seen as weakening the Ummah.
The group reiterated its unwavering commitment to peace, loyalty to Nigeria, and constructive engagement with all faiths for national development. This sentiment was echoed by distinguished guests, including the former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafadeen Ishola, and Senator Olamilekan Adeola.
Participants were also urged to become righteous role models for future generations through piety and moral discipline, and to revive the spirit of Salat (prayer) and righteous conduct. The exemplary lives of Hazrat Sir Zafrullah Khan Sahib and Hazrat Syeda Nawab Mubaarakah Begum (ra) were highlighted as models of selflessness and service.
The conference underscored the compelling modern-day evidence for the existence of Allah, drawing from scientific discoveries and spiritual experiences. The Jalsa concluded with a powerful call to all Muslims to firmly hold fast to the rope of Allah through obedience, loyalty to Khilafat, mutual love, and the rejection of all forms of extremism, hatred, and division.
The event was graced by numerous dignitaries, including traditional rulers, religious leaders from various faiths, and prominent academics.
