The Yobe State Government has declared Monday, July 8, as a public holiday to commemorate the beginning of a new Islamic calendar year Muharram 1446.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Yobe State Head of Service, (HoS), Hamidu Alhaji, which was made available to LEADERSHIP in Damaturu, Yobe State capital.
Alhaji said that the state governor, Mai Mala Buni, urged the civil servants to use the opportunity to pray for peace and bumper harvest in the 2024 cropping season.
