An Israeli firm, ONIDA Development, led by its Israel’s managing director has sought to introduce the country’s agricultural expertise and technology to Abia State.
Israel stated this when he led a firm delegation on an advocacy visit to the state governor, Alex Otti, in his office in Umuahia, the state capital.
He said the firm is interested in investing in fish production, vegetables, and poultry farming, among others, assuring they have contacts to finance the investment.
Accompanied by the national coordinator, Nigeria- Israel Forum, Florence Osuji, he requested the government’s land allocation to the firm for the project.
In response, the governor expressed his administration’s willingness to partner with the firm and other investors to boost the state’s economy.
He said that watching the managing director’s presentation and listening to him, he was convinced that “our administration is going to work for you.”
“So, I am in a hurry to see that you begin to implement this initiative to boost productivity in the State.
The land belongs to the government, and we will provide it.
“Because we are involved, even if you have to pay anything, it will be insignificant as the provision of land can also be our equity to the investment,” Otti noted.
