Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the six geopolitical zones have passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, defending his distribution of campaign mobilisation vehicles to selected youth leaders.
The youth leaders said the initiative would strengthen grassroots mobilisation and improve the capacity of beneficiaries to mobilise young Nigerians and party members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They made their position known in a statement signed by the APC Zonal Youth Leader for the South-South and chairman of the group, Prince Koyoyo, and the Zonal Youth Leader for the North-East and secretary, Comrade Joseph Mwadiyale.
The statement followed concerns expressed in some quarters over the distribution of campaign mobilisation vehicles, including Prado sports utility vehicles (SUVs), to selected youth leaders.
The youth leaders acknowledged that the announcement might not have been well received by everyone but maintained that the gesture deserved commendation, given the contributions of the beneficiaries to the party.
They argued that the initiative addressed longstanding concerns about inadequate rewards for party members who dedicate their time, resources and energy to the APC’s growth and electoral success.
“Rather than condemn an initiative designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, encouraging efforts that recognise loyalty, reward sacrifice and enhance the capacity of youth leaders to deliver on their responsibilities cannot be vilified,” they said.
The group also highlighted the distribution of Toyota Hiace buses to the Deputy National Youth Leader, the six zonal youth leaders and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Youth Leader, saying the vehicles had facilitated their mobilisation activities.
According to the statement, at least 100 Nigerian youths had benefited from overseas capacity-building programmes and training conferences facilitated under Israel’s leadership.
The youth leaders further claimed that the APC Youth Wing had established a well-equipped youth resource centre that served as a hub for party activities and engagement with young Nigerians.
They cited President Bola Tinubu’s remarks at an event organised by the CityBoy Movement in Abuja on October 19, 2026, as further recognition of Israel’s efforts in youth development.
Rejecting what they described as attempts to discredit the national youth leader, the group called on party stakeholders to embrace constructive engagement and work towards strengthening the party’s unity.
“We hereby pass a resounding vote of confidence in his leadership,” the statement said.
The youth leaders urged APC members to close ranks behind Israel, arguing that disagreements over the vehicle distribution should not overshadow the broader objective of building a stronger and more effective youth wing.
They said the party’s youth structure must concentrate on grassroots mobilisation, creating opportunities for young Nigerians and securing victory for Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
The group also expressed appreciation to First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for her support and guidance, pledging to deploy its networks and mobilisation capacity towards the party’s electoral success.
Similarly, the Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) immediate past State Deputy Youth Leaders has passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Youth Leader, Hon. Dayo Israel, pledging support for his leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The forum, comprising the APC Deputy National Youth Leader and immediate past Deputy State Youth Leaders from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced its position in a resolution dated October 27, 2026.
The forum said its decision followed a collective assessment of Israel’s stewardship, which it described as characterised by dedication, strategic clarity and result-driven leadership.
According to the statement, signed on behalf of the forum by Hon. Ekpeni Freedom Holywater JP and Hon. Elemi Cyril Emmanuel, Israel’s leadership had strengthened cohesion, visibility and capacity within the party’s youth wing.
It added that he had deepened grassroots engagement, strengthened structures across the states and mobilised young Nigerians behind President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The former youth leaders also commended Israel’s accessibility to youth leaders at different levels and his commitment to building a united and election-ready youth platform.
They said his efforts had positioned the APC youth wing to play a decisive role in the party’s fortunes in the 2027 elections.
Consequently, the forum reaffirmed its loyalty to Israel and the APC leadership, pledging to collaborate with the national youth leader in mobilising young Nigerians for the re-election of President Tinubu and the victory of other party candidates.
The group also pledged to work with Israel to consolidate existing gains and expand the reach and effectiveness of the party’s youth wing nationwide.
The resolution, according to the signatories, is binding on all members of the forum and reflects their collective position.
