Former Super Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu has backed Arsenal F.C. to defeat Paris Saint-Germain F.C. and win this season’s UEFA Champions League title.
Kanu shared his prediction ahead of Saturday’s final, expressing confidence that Arsenal’s remarkable campaign would end with European glory.
The Gunners head into the final in Budapest after securing their first Premier League title in 22 years under manager Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal have also enjoyed an unbeaten run throughout the Champions League campaign, a feat that has strengthened belief among supporters that the North London side can finally capture Europe’s biggest club prize.
Standing in their way, however, are defending champions PSG, who have already eliminated several English clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, on their route to the final.
Despite PSG’s experience and quality, Kanu believes momentum and destiny favour Arsenal this season.
“I told my friends that last season we struggled against Manchester City, and they went on to win the league,” Kanu said.
“But this season the table changed, and we came out on top to win the Premier League title.”
The former Arsenal striker drew comparisons between last season’s Champions League triumph for PSG and Arsenal’s current rise under Arteta.
“In the same way, PSG won the Champions League last year, but I truly believe that this season it will be Arsenal’s turn to go all the way and lift the trophy, making it a historic year for the club,” he added.
Kanu remains one of Arsenal’s most celebrated former players after helping the club achieve historic success during his time in England, including the famous “Invincibles” season.
Victory for Arsenal would complete a memorable campaign and cement Arteta’s growing status among Europe’s elite managers.
The final is expected to attract millions of viewers worldwide, with both clubs seeking to further strengthen their legacy on the European stage.
