Chairman and CEO of A&E Group, Chief Ayiri Emami, has called for increased political representation for the Itsekiri people in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, citing their support during the presidential election.

Emami disclosed this to State House correspondents on Tuesday after meeting President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.

“When you work, you expect some dividends.”As Itsekiri, we voted for Mr President, so we expect we need patronage to be part of the government. Our people need to be part of the government,” he stated.

The Delta State business leader discussed several regional development projects with the President, including the strategic Omadino-Gbaramatu-Ugborodo road project.

According to Emami, “He replies that Chevron and NDDC are already working on a way forward on that road.”

The meeting also addressed the longstanding issue of the Warri Port development. “The GMD and his team are working out something on the location so that the bar mouth can be properly dredged,” Emami revealed.

Regarding the Ogidigben Gas Project (EPZ), Emami confirmed that the President took immediate action: “He minuted some of these issues immediately to somebody to follow up.”

Regarding security, the business leader painted a positive picture of the region.

“The waterway is one of the safest in the world right now,” he stated. “The Warri-Escravos, the Delta waterways, is very safe.”
