Nollywood star and filmmaker, Iyabo Ojo, has expressed her excitement following the release of the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) nomination list.

Her 2025 indigenous film, Labake Olododo, earned recognition in two major categories: Best Indigenous Language (West Africa) and Best Makeup. The nominations, announced on Sunday, March 29, have sparked widespread celebration among her fans and colleagues in the movie industry.

Reacting to the news on her social media handle, Ojo described the nominations as a collective achievement for her production team. She also extended a heartwarming message to other actors and filmmakers on the list.

“On behalf of my entire team and my humble self, we’re grateful. Kudos to all my co-nominees. This is a win for all of us,” she wrote.

The competition in the Best Indigenous Language category is expected to be stiff, as the list also includes Funke Akindele’s Behind The Scenes and Toyin Abraham’s Oversabi Aunty.
