The Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has expressed the hope that the establishment of state police will create a friendly environment for investors in the country.
MOSIEND president, Dr Kennedy West, who disclosed this in a chat with LEADERSHIP in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, said state police will create employment opportunities for youths in the country.
Describing the police formation as a must-established institution, West stated that state police will also create sanity, and boost security in the state and at the local levels.
He further expressed the hope that state police will deliver credible, efficient, and effective policing at the grassroots.
“State Police, in spite of what locals will say, is a must -established institution of the state. In spite of the fears the public may express about state police, it will create employment, it will create sanity, it will boost security in the state and at the local level.
“It will create an environment friendly for investors to come in. It will restore investors’ confidence, it will increase moral ethics and standards of the society in the sense that more people will be trained and more people will understand the difference between right and wrong, good and bad.
“Generally, state police creation is for the progress of the state and the local government.
State Police is in most established societies and countries in the world and they have been serving very well side by side with their overall national police.
“It will bring credible policing, efficient policing, effective policing at the grassroots,” the MOSIEND leader said.
