Muhammad Buba Jajere, the member representing Fika/Fune federal constituency, has launched stipend payments under the MBJ Scholarship Programme. Starting Tuesday, 29 April 2025, the first group of 200 verified beneficiaries will receive their scholarship notifications.
The scheme, designed to support Fika/Fune federal constituency students, aims to promote equal access to education across the 23 political wards. An online application portal was established to ensure transparency, allowing eligible tertiary students to apply easily.
The scholarship secretariat announced that each student will receive ₦30,000 in verified batches of 200 until all candidates have been paid.
“Currently, only four institutions have completed the verification process,” stated the MBJ Scholarship Programme. These include: Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum; Federal Polytechnic, Damaturu; Federal University, Gashua; and Yobe State University, Damaturu.
Only students with verified academic records from their institutions will be eligible for the scholarship. Further batches will follow as more institutions complete the verification process. Hon. Jajere thanked students and institutions for their cooperation and requested patience as the initiative progresses.
Through this programme, Jajere reaffirms his commitment to investing in the future of Fika/Fune by empowering young minds to overcome financial barriers and pursue academic excellence.
