JAMB Automates O’Level Result Verification, Upload

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for routine visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.

Under the new arrangement, JAMB will verify candidates’ O’Level results directly with the examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

In a press statement on Monday, Dr Fabian Benjamin, Ag. Director, Public Affairs and Protocol of JAMB, said the initiative was part of the Board’s renewed commitment to making its services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.

He said the technology-driven system would reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, while placing candidates’ convenience at the centre of JAMB’s service delivery.

According to him, the new arrangement would also address some of the challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, the presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.

“Through the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, results can now be verified directly against the examination body’s records before being downloaded into the candidate’s profile,” Benjamin said.

He said under the first level of the process, candidates are required to visit the designated result verification platform, enter their National Identification Number (NIN) and verify their identity.

They are then expected to select the number of sittings and the relevant examination body or bodies before providing their email address and GSM number.

After making payment through the available payment options, candidates are required to enter their examination details, including examination number, examination series and examination year. They can then verify their results and obtain a Verification Code.

For the second level, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by their Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. Their results will subsequently be uploaded and a notification sent to them.

Candidates with two sittings will be required to access their profiles on JAMB’s e-Facility platform and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”They will then enter their Verification Code, after which their two verified results will be displayed.

Candidates must also select a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects from the displayed results, with no subject selected more than once. They are then required to click “Apply the O’Level Results” and will receive a notification confirming successful submission, the board stated.

JAMB also said the verification service would provide candidates with a convenient alternative, particularly during periods of high patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.

The Board said the initiative reflected the commitment of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to building a more customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery system.

“JAMB will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates,” the statement said.
