The announcement follows the successful conclusion of the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The UTME registration process, which began on February 3, 2025, has officially closed, with 2,030,627 candidates successfully completing their registration.

These candidates are now eligible to take part in the UTME, which is scheduled for April 25, 2025. This number does not include candidates who registered to sit for the examination at foreign centres.

In addition, 200,115 candidates expressed interest in taking the optional mock UTME, which is set for April 5, 2025.

Of these, 630 candidates have registered for the trial mock examination, which will also take place on the same date.

In its Monday weekly bulletin, JAMB disclosed that with the closure of the UTME registration, preparations for the annual examination are now in full swing.

“This year, the Board has implemented several innovative measures to deter cheating and maintain the integrity of the examination process. These measures have already led to multiple arrests of candidates attempting to use forged A-level results for admission, highlighting the effectiveness of the new system designed to detect such fraud,” the board stated.

“Candidates are strongly advised to adhere to the examination rules and regulations and refrain from any dishonest practices during the examination,” it added.

Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s public communications advisor, also emphasised that the registration process for DE is crucial for individuals who possess degrees, diplomas, or A-level certificates and wish to advance their education at their preferred universities.

He further stated, “The initiation of the DE sales follows the successful conclusion of the UTME application sales, which ended on Saturday, March 8, 2025. During this period, JAMB recorded 2,030,627 registrations for the 2025 UTME, 200,115 for the Mock-UTME and 630 applications for the trial mock.”

JAMB has also stressed the importance of adhering to all entry requirements, warning that serious penalties will be imposed on applications containing false declarations.

“A special committee will verify all submitted Advanced A-Level qualifications and any fraudulent results will lead to prosecution. Additionally, institutions are encouraged to directly verify certificates before considering admissions. Registration can only be done at JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRC),” the statement concluded.
