Former Plateau State governor Senator Jonah Jang has denied media reports that he called on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to resign following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jang in a statement issued by his media consultant Clinton Garuba said his attention had been drawn to the misleading reports in some print and online media outlets.
According to the statement, for clarity purpose Jang’s remarks were quoted out of context, adding that at no time during the PDP stakeholders’ meeting did he call for Governor Mutfwang’s resignation, rather, he criticised politicians for leaving their parties to join others.
The former governor therefore called on the people of the state to disregard the report and support Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who continues to lead the state under the people’s mandate.
