Jealous Boyfriend Kills Rival In Adamawa

A jealous boyfriend, Idrissa Muhammadu, has killed a rival, Adamu Zumdi in Mayo-renewo a suburb village in Pella district, Hong local government area of Adamawa state

The duo of same address, had been having a running battle over a girl (name withheld), even as they engaged themselves in frequent fights even at the market square, any moment they set eyes on each other.

Muhammadu, who killed his rival has been remanded in at correctional center, was alledged to have flashed a torchlight at the deceased around 6:00pm on 14th May, 2022. The action provoked the latter who vented his anger by killing him with a matchet.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the alleged offence, which contravenes section 191 of the Penal Code law, 2018. He admitted thus: “I matcheted him”.

Chief Magistrate, Mohammed Buba gave the order for the arraignment of the defendant on 1 count charge of “culpable homicide”.

Buba, ordered that the defendant should be held pending legal advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Adamu who sustained deep matchet cut, was rushed to General Hospital Hong for medical attention but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector S. S. Nicholas informed the court that the father of the deceased, Alh. Jobdi Song reported the matter to the police.
