Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has opened up about the severe financial challenges he faced after his movie failed to make a profit at the Box office.
In a recent interview on October 17, 2026, the veteran actor disclosed that producing and releasing his film, Leko Esu Gbayi, cost over ₦300 million, funded largely by investors expecting returns.
Kosoko explained that the project did not generate enough revenue to cover the costs, leaving him and his backers at a financial loss.
“We didn’t earn our money, and the little we earned was split,” he lamented.
Describing his situation humorously, he joked about dancing despite his financial burdens, though he clarified that the crew and production workers had already been paid for their services.
Kosoko also acknowledged the massive investments made by cinema operators in the distribution chain, noting the tough business realities of the film industry.
