Jigawa Gets Committee On New Minimum Wage

Jigawa State government has set up a committee for drafting the formula for implementation of the approved N70,000 minimum wage.

The commissioner for information, youth, sport and culture, Hon. Sagir Musa, stated this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the state executive council meeting yesterday.

He said the committee is under the chairmanship of the Head of Service, Muhammad Dagacire and private personal secretary to the state governor,  Garin Gabas as secretary.

Sagir said the council had approved release of  N882.8m for the settlement of 39,709 candidates’ registration fees for the 2024 NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS.

He said N921.9m was also approved for the work for the on maintenance/rehabilitation of  Auyo -Kafin Hausa Road N16.1m for additional award of consultancy services.

Other approvals are  N400m as balance of the  N1 billion approved for supporting  Micro Small and

 

Medium Enterprise (MSMEs)in the state,

 

N179.2m as Direct Facility Financing (DFF) to  accredited Primary Health Centres and additional 17 PHCs across the 281 wards in the state.
