Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has announced automatic scholarships for over 200 candidates who participated in the 40th edition of the state Qur’anic recitation competition.

The governor made the pledge during the closing ceremony and prize presentation held at Ahmadu Bello Hall in Dutse, the state capital.

He said beneficiaries would be entitled to scholarships to study any discipline of their choice, including Qur’anic Studies, Hadith, Arts, Engineering, Medicine, or Social Sciences.

Governor Namadi also unveiled plans to create a dedicated budget line for Qur’anic education to reform the traditional Almajiri system, enhance spiritual knowledge, and promote the correct teachings of the Qur’an.

He stressed that individuals with sound spiritual education often demonstrate integrity and good character in society.
