At the closing ceremony of the five-day training programme, the state governor emphasised that adopting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in governance, public service delivery, and innovative initiatives is a key component of his 12-point agenda.

He said integrating ICT streamlines government operations and improves efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and accountability in public service delivery.

” Today, advanced innovations in ICT, such as AI, have emerged. We must keep pace with these developments and are committed to collaborating with partners to achieve our goals.

“Our partnership with KOICA to train our workforce in AI skills is timely. We are optimistic that the skills acquired by our civil servants will be effectively applied to governance operations, further enhancing efficiency,” the governor added.

Governor Namadi commended the Korean government for supporting and contributing to advancing e-governance in Jigawa State.

On his part, the state head of civil service revealed that participants for the training were carefully selected from 50 ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) across the state to ensure widespread knowledge dissemination.

In his remarks, Dr Rislan Kanya, the governor’s technical adviser on ICT and digital economy, highlighted KOICA’s pivotal role in Jigawa’s digital transformation journey.

“Korea has been instrumental in Nigeria’s e-governance initiatives. With their support, we developed Jigawa’s e-government master plan. We are leveraging their expertise to integrate AI, blockchain, and quantum computing into our systems.”

“The training marks a significant step in Jigawa State’s efforts to modernise governance and harness cutting-edge technologies for improved public service delivery and Digital Economy project,” Dr Kanya stated.
