DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command’s spokesperson, who confirmed the arrests in a statement, stated that following a credible intelligence tip and report, the police were able to apprehend three suspects.

The spokesperson recounted an incident where Dr Abdullahi Dogo, a Technical Adviser to the Jigawa State Governor, reported his Toyota Corolla missing on November 19, 2023, after parking it at Yantifa market in Dutse LGA.

Upon receiving the report, officers from the Dutse Police Station launched an investigation. Their efforts, guided by reliable intelligence, led them to a suspicious movement of a FAW VITA with a non-local registration plate on November 21, 2023, around the parking area in Dutse.

Following instructions from the Divisional Police Officer, the patrol team apprehended two suspects, Abdullahi Sani and Faruk Adamu. They were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for their presence and a subsequent search revealed nine master keys, various license plates, and mechanic tools.
