Prominent Nigerians including former President Goodluck Jonathan and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are among leaders who have hailed Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on the occasion of his 55th birthday.
The former president sent his wishes through a letter addressed to the governor while Tinubu sent his wishes through his verified social media handles.
Jonathan declared that Makinde was a patriot and service- oriented leader, who had been deliberate in providing hope and development to the people of Oyo State.
He urged Makinde not to relent in his purposeful strides in the state.
The letter titled: “Goodwill message on your 55th birthday” partly read, “On behalf of my family, I celebrate with you, the government and people of Oyo State on the occasion of your 55th birthday.
“You are a patriotic and service-oriented leader who has been deliberate in providing hope and development for the people of Oyo State. “As you celebrate, I urge you to remain committed in service and pursuit of peace and development and the common good of your people.”
While congratulating Makinde, Tinubu wished him and the people of Oyo State the very best.
The speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, in a special congratulatory birthday message to the governor, expressed hearty cheers to the celebrant on the occasion of his 55th birthday.
He described the life of the governor as a great blessing to Oyo State as well as to the generality of the people who have come in contact with him.
The deputy national chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, also felicitated with the governor, saying Makinde has provided quality leadership with his excellent performances in every sector of governance.
Similarly, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, congratulated i Makinde of the state on his birthday.
The NUJ chairmane, Comrade Ademola Babalola and the secretary, Comrade Olusola Oladapo, described Makinde as a strong pillar of support for journalists in the state.
