According to security sources, his accomplices had already loaded two cartons of drugs to be delivered to the criminal elements through their motorcycle before fleeing upon sighting the security team, while Owoloja was captured as he attempted to escape.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, who is said to be the Chairman, Ejiba Branch of the Okada Riders Association, confessed to sourcing the drugs from a chemist shop in Egbe for onward delivery to his accomplices in the forest.

The Chief Press Secretary to the chairman of Yagba West local government council, Adeyemi Babarinde Sunday, said the suspect was also found with the sum of ₦600,000, suspected to be proceeds or operational funds for the illegal transaction.
