Civil servants in Adamawa State were full of praises and jubilations as they received their August salaries with the benchmark of the N70,000 new national minimum wage.

Some of the civil servants, who started receiving their salary alerts since Friday, promised to put in their best as their financial burden have been reduced.

Alhaji Danjuma Usman Mohammed, a driver at the Government House, Yola, promised to enroll his children back to school, having been withdrawn due to financial constraints.

“Am glad for receiving N50,000 increase on my monthly salary.

“The funds would go a long way in alleviating my family suffering,” he said.

Usman lauded Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for being a man of his words by fulfilling his promises to the civil servants.

Another civil servant, John Yusuf, working with Adamawa State Televiion (ATV) Yola, promised to use his salary increment to purchase fertilizer for his farm and foodstuffs for his family.
