A political group, Obidient Movement Worldwide, has said that Nigeria’s judiciary remains the beacon of hope for its citizens.

The Obidient Movement Worldwide stated this in a communique made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja.

The communique which was jointly signed by Dr. Harna Gorah, Dr. Michael Chukwujekwu, Pastor James Ime, Ebere Obiesie, and Yinka Quadiri also stressed the need to address pressing issues surrounding Nigeria’s political landscape.

The communique said selfless dedication to Nigeria’s future was essential to electoral reforms and improved governance, particularly with regards to nurturing the younger generation.

It also condemned violence and disenfranchisement which, according to them, marred the 2023 elections and heightened concerns for the country globally.

The attendees, according to the communique “envisioned a Nigeria where capable individuals from working-age demographics could lead the nation into the digital era without undue influence from external factors, alliances, or political interference.

“This vision includes effectively utilising Nigeria’s vast human and economic resources and addressing crippling debt issues.”

Crucially, they called for a Nigeria where the welfare and lives of its citizens take precedence, expressing deep concern about the increasing challenges faced by the population, including insecurity, banditry, kidnapping, and economic hardships.

In the words of the gathering, “If there is a time for a turn-around in Nigeria for the sake of posterity, it is now.”

The citizens and the Obidient Movement Worldwide Support Group present at the meeting included various organisations and individuals who share these concerns, all advocating for a better future for Nigeria.

Some of the groups include Peter Obi Support Network (POSN), Peter ObiDatti Presidential Global Network (PPGN), Women For Peter Obi (WPO), Take Back Nija (TBN), Peter Obi Movement (POM), and many others, highlighting the broad spectrum of support for change in Nigeria.
