Cerebrospinal meningitis is a severe infection that leads to inflammation of the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord. It is typically caused by bacteria or viruses and can spread through close contact with an infected person.

According to health officials, common symptoms of the disease include high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light. If left untreated, the infection can result in severe complications or even death.

The state government has assured residents that measures were being put in place to contain the outbreak, including increased surveillance and public health awareness campaigns.
