Three youths suspected to political thugs were on Saturday killed at Ogbakiri Community in Emohua local government area of the state.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the incident occurred during a clash between thugs hired by two leading political parties in the community.

The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the ugly development.

The low turnout may not be unconnected with the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly, which several residents of the state alleged was rigged in favour of a particular political party.

Our correspondent who visited several polling units, especially those in the rural areas of the state, observed that there was absence of security operatives in most polling units.

It was observed that there was only one police personnel in each of the polling units in Emohua local government area while there was none in all the units in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.
