JUST-IN: Akwa Ibom NYSC Coordinator, Driver Abducted

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its Akwa-Ibom State Coordinator, Mr. Okun Christopher, and his driver, Mr. Daniel Effiong Asibong, have been abducted on transit to Uyo, the State capital.

The Scheme, in a press statement on Wednesday, signed by Eddy Megwa, the Director, Information and Public Relations, said all efforts to locate their whereabout has yielded no result till date.

It called for public assistance in locating Christopher and Asibong, who have been missing since July 29, 2024.

The statement also urged anyone with useful information regarding their whereabout to contact any of the 37 NYSC State Secretariats nationwide, Area Offices and the National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja or the nearest police station or other security agency.

“The that two officers of National Youth Service Corps got missing between Delta and Akwa-Ibom State on Monday, July 29, 2024 while on official duties.

“The NYSC Akwa-Ibom State Coordinator, Mr. Okun Christopher and his driver, Mr. Daniel Effiong Asibong were on transit to Uyo in a white official Hilux vehicle with registration number 27D31FG when the unfortunate incident happened,” NYSC stated.
