Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, on Tuesday morning, met at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Both men were attending the Police Council meeting, which consists of 36 state governors and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The duo, whose opposing loyalists were at dagger drawn back home in the Rivers State House of Assembly over impeachment move against the governor, even shook hands before the meeting commenced.
Recall that Rivers State has been in news since after moves by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach Governor Fubara resulted in turbulence in the state on Monday, as the governor’s loyalists stormed the Assembly complex in protest against the plot.
Some have accused the FCT Minister Wike of being behind the crisis in the state, having failed to teleguide Governor Fubara.
Our Correspondent reports that the Police Council is meeting to confirm the appointment of the Inspector-general of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
