JUST-IN: APC Women Leaders, Others Kidnapped After Attending Kaduna Gov’s Inauguration

Two women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been kidnapped along Manini flashpoint of Birnin Gwari local governments area of Kaduna State on their way back home after attending the inauguration ceremony of the new Governor of the, Senator Uba Sani, on Monday.

Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, disclosed this during an interview with journalists in  Kaduna on Wednesday morning.

According to him, the bandits blocked the road and kidnapped the two APC women leaders alongside scores of others.

He said the kidnapped women leaders are Birnin Gwari APC woman leader, Hajiya Lami Awarware, and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu.

It was further gathered that the victims were kidnapped on Tuesday and were taken to the forest by their abductors.

The BEPU chairman, however, said the kidnappers were yet to make contact with families of the victims neither have they made any ransom demand on any of the victims.

It would be recalled that on Monday, BEPU had appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to the aid of Birnin Gwari Emirate in tackling the insecurity bedeviling the Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Mohammed Jalige, did not pick phone calls placed to his known telephone number and didn’t return the calls as at the time of filing this report.
