The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, Governors Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, are currently at the Court of Appeal in Abuja over a case on the leadership tussle within the party.
They are joined by members of the National Working Committee (NWC) for the scheduled appeal hearing regarding the party’s leadership status.
The party has been locked in a long leadership battle between camps loyal to the PDP governors and that of the minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike.
While the tussle has resulted in the Police sealing of the party’s national secretariat, both camps have expelled each other from the party and dissolved state chapters of the opposing side.
