The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has postponed the opening of its recruitment portal from its earlier scheduled date of Thursday, June 26, 2025, to Monday, July 14, 2025.

The announcement was contained in a public notice signed by the Secretary to the Board and made available to journalists on Wednesday.

LEADERSHIP reports that the portal, which was initially set to begin receiving applications on June 26, is the primary channel through which prospective candidates apply for recruitment into Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies under the board’s supervision.

These include the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The Board explained that the delay was due to an adjustment in schedule, although no specific reason was stated. “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) wishes to notify the general public that its recruitment portal which was earlier slated to open on Thursday 26th June, 2025, will now open on Monday 14th July, 2025,” the statement read.

The board also announced a new official web address for recruitment, recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng urging all interested applicants to use the updated link.

In what appeared to be a precautionary move against fraud, the CDCFIB reminded the public that “all applications are free and do not attract any payment.” The Board expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the rescheduling.

The last CDCFIB recruitment exercise was conducted in 2023, and was marred by technical glitches and complaints of extortion by fraudulent third-party platforms, prompting the board to revamp its recruitment procedures.
