The immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has been summoned for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This was personally disclosed by Malami on Friday morning via his verified Facebook page. He, however, did not disclose the reason for the invite or subject of the investigation.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Malami, as the AGF and Minister of Justice from late 2015 to May, 2023, during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, exercised supervisory powers over the EFCC for eight years.

Now a chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) and governorship hopeful in his native Kebbi State, Malami promised to honour the invite as a law-abiding citizen.

He also promised to make a public disclosure of his encounter with the EFCC.
