Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), on Thursday, conducted a search at the residence of the detained former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misconduct during his administration.

The development was confirmed in a statement by Media Adviser to Malam El-Rufai., Muyiwa Adekeye on X, who noted that the former governor’s home was visited by ICPC officials earlier Thursday.

He wrote, “UPDATE: The residence of Malam Nasir @elrufai was today searched by the ICPC.”

Reacting to the incident, Ubong Akpan, one of El-Rufai’s lawyers, condemned the operation, describing it as “unlawful and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights.”
