A second power grid collapse has occurred on Tuesday morning less than 24 hours after the first occurrence on Monday night.

Ikeja Electric, in a notice signed by its Management to customers on Tuesday, said restoration effort was ongoing, asking its customers to bear with them.

“Please be informed that we experienced another system outage today 15/10/2025 @ 09:17hrs affecting supply within our network.

“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders,” it stated.

LEADERSHIP reports that the nation’s electricity grid collapsed on Monday evening, leading to a nationwide blackout.

The Disco said the development had led to a loss of power supply across its franchise.

“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours today, 14th October 2024. This has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across the EEDC network.

“Consequently, due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo State.

“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo”, he said.

Also, Eko Distribution Company confirmed the grid collapse.

LEADERSHIP’s effort to reach spokesperson of the Transmission Company of Nigerai (TCN) proved abortive as the mobile phone was switched off as at the time of this report.
