As of the time of filing this report, the family has yet to officially announce the development.

Akintelure last week in a statement raised the alarm that unnamed persons were threatening his life over the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

He was the running mate to the late Oluwarotimi Akeredolu during the 2012 governorship election lost by the late governor under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Following this development, one of the leading governorship aspirants on the platform of APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, Wale Akinterinwa, has suspended his political activities

Akinterinwa said his campaign activities, which were earlier planned to kick off today, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, with praise worship at his country home in Ile-Oluji, were suspended in honour of a friend and comrade.

A statement confirming the death of the politician, signed by the Spokesperson of Wale Akinterinwa Campaign Organisation, Segun Ajiboye said “I am saddened by the news of the passing of a friend and comrade. Following this sad incident, I have decided to suspend all political activities of our campaign organization.

“I pray God to console his family, friends, and the APC in Ondo State and to give the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
