JUST-IN: Owa Obokun Joins Ancestors At 87

The long-reigned Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran has reportedly joined his ancestors.

Sources in the state confided in LEADERSHIP anonymously, that the 87-year old monarch has passed, awaiting official announcement from his palace and the Osun State government.

Uniformed security agents have also been drafted to the palace of the departed monarch in preparation for the official announcement of the demise of Oba Aromolaran.

A source from the palace said the whereabouts of the monarch after his health reportedly depreciated this week could not be confirmed and unsure if the monarch recovered from sickness or not.

Unofficial sources have however disclosed that the monarch has joined his ancestors.

Oba Adekunle ascended the throne on February 20, 1982, from the Aromolaran family, and reigned 42 years on the throne.
