Residents of Nigeria’s commercial nerve, on Monday, hit the streets to protest against the high level of economic hardship in the country.
LEADERSHIP learnt that the ongoing protest in Lagos was facilitated by a human rights group called ‘Take It Back Movement’.
The protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions, which expressed their grievances, at the ever-busy Ojuelegba Under Bridge area of Lagos.
The development is coming hours to the planned nationwide protest scheduled for February 27 and 28 by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) over high cost of living and the attendant decreased purchasing power of Nigerian workers.
