Prior to the extension, Adeniyi’s tenure was scheduled to end on August 31, 2025.

According to a statement on Thursday by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the extension, approved by President Bola Tinubu will enable Adeniyi to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete critical initiatives of this administration.
