President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over a Special Session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) convened in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The solemn session is being held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, and is attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, cabinet ministers, top government officials, and other dignitaries.

The event marks part of the Federal Government’s series of tributes to commemorate the life and legacy of the late Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1984 to 1985 and as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.

President Tinubu, who had earlier led dignitaries to Daura for the funeral and third-day prayers (Fidau) for the late statesman, is expected to deliver a heartfelt tribute at the session, highlighting Buhari’s contributions to national development, public service, and democratic governance.

The special council meeting underscores the administration’s commitment to honouring Buhari’s memory and preserving his legacy of integrity, discipline, and dedication to the Nigerian people.
