President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with the defunct G-5 governors group at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Thursday.
The G-5 is made up of five PDP governors in the last dispensation — Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Nyesom Wike (Rivers).
Among the G-5 governors, only Governor Makinde is still a serving governor.
The aggrieved governors had formed an alliance after the PDP presidential primary election was won by Atiku Abubakar in May 2022.
They demanded that the then PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, should step down for a Southern replacement as a precondition to support the presidential candidate of the party in the February 25 poll but that did not happen.
