The Kogi State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, sitting in Lokoja, on Wednesday, declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the winner of the February 25 Kogi Central Senatorial election.
In his ruling, the Tribunal chairman, Justice K. A. Orjiako, declared that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan secured 54,064 votes, surpassing her closest challenger, Abubakar Ohere, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 51,291 votes.
He directed Ohere to pay Akpoti-Uduaghan the sum of N500,000 for the cost of the petition.
Recall that Akpoti-Uduaghan, who contested the election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had filed a petition with the National and State Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal challenging the victory of Ohere.
