Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, former chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), now known as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has passed away.
The news was confirmed by Ahmed Gara Gombe, former chairman of the Gombe State Football Association, who shared the sad announcement on a WhatsApp platform. “MAY THE SOUL OF IBRAHIM GALADIMA REST IN PEACE. AMEEN,” Gara’s poignant message read.
Alhaji Galadima, widely regarded as one of the most significant icons in Nigerian and African football, led the NFA from 2002 to 2006. He concluded his tenure with an unblemished record, free from controversy or reputational stain. His distinguished career also saw him serve as chairman of Kano Pillars and later the Kano State Sports Commission, further cementing his legacy in Nigerian sport.
