Kabir Bags Rep Of The Year 2024 Award

The member of the House of Representatives for Bichi federal constituency of Kano State and chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, has bagged the Representative of the Year 2024 Award.

Democracy Heroes Award Africa conferred the award on him in recognition of his contributions towards the enrichment of democratic norms in the Nigerian society including offering scholarships to his constituents in Bichi local government at all levels and provision of infrastructure in the area, among others.

The project director of FDN, Olufunsho Ajagbonna, aka Fajag, presented the award to former chairman of Bichi local government Prof. Yusuf Muhammad Sabo, who represented the lawmaker at a ceremony which was held on 2nd October 2024, at Congress Hall Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

Abubakar Kabir Abubakar beat several other nominees to emerge the winner of the award.

FDN said that the rep’s outstanding performance is deserving of recognition.

The organisation added that the award was conferred on the lawmaker after rigorous processes to ensure that there was no mismanagement of funds assigned to him and acknowledged his constant desire to improve the society’s quality of life through creating opportunities for the upcoming generation.

Democracy Hero’s Award is hosted by Face of Democracy Nigeria (FDN). The award also recognises entrepreneurs, businesses and entertainers whose contributions have helped in entrenching stability through job creation, youth empowerment and poverty alleviation measures.
