The Kings overcame a challenging start to defeat the Kada Stars with a score of 2-1 (21-23, 21-19, 15-8) in the men’s final.

In the men’s category, Kada Kings came from behind to beat Kada Stars 2-1 (21-23, 21-19, 15-8) in a keenly contested final while Kada Emeralds beat Adamawa Spikers 2-0 (21-12, 21-11) in the women’s category at 2024 President Beach Volleyball Cup in Kaduna.

In an interview with sports journalists, the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod said the President Cup has lived up to expectations of the Beach community.

Nimrod said the beach commission will ensure the young players discovered at the Cup gets adequate attention by organising regular tournaments.

He said, “The President Beach Volleyball Cup is the first tournament in the calendar of the Federation and I am happy with what I have seen. We have a couple of young players who are playing beach volleyball for the first time and they have been impressive.

“There are two categories in the President Beach Cup and they are the U19 and Senior. The U19 exposed a lot of young players and the commission is working tirelessly in ensuring the players get a lot of exposure”.

Nimrod charged coaches across the country not to relent in the discovery of young players.

He said, “The coaches are the engine room of the Federation; I am calling on coaches in the various states not to relent in discovering players. Nigeria is blessed and there are lots untapped players waiting to be processed; the coaches are the right set of people to refine them.”
