As the wave of defections gathers momentum, a prominent Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council member in the 2023 general elections, Hon. Ismail Aliyu Makarfi, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC).
Hon. Ismail Aliyu Makarfi was a former commissioner of finance at Kaduna State.
In his letter of resignation submitted to the APC Makarfi ward chairman, he did not give any reason for his action, but it may not be unconnected with recent political realignment across the country.
“I remain grateful for the experience and relationships built during my time with the party,” he said.
His resignation marks a turning point in Kaduna politics, having served the party in various positions.
Makarfi is reported to have contributed to the victory of Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
