Two women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State have been kidnapped in Manini flashpoint in Birnin Gwari local government area while returning home from the inauguration of Governor Uba Sani.
The chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), Ishaq Usman Kasai, disclosed this to journalists in Kaduna yesterday morning.
He said the bandits blocked the road and kidnapped the two APC women leaders alongside scores of others.
Kasai identified the victims as APC women leader, Hajiya Lami Awarware and her assistant, Hajiya Haulatu Aliyu.
It was gathered that the victims were kidnapped on Tuesday and were taken to the forest by their abductors.
The BEPU chairman said the kidnappers were yet to make contact with families of the victims nor have they placed any ransom demand on any of them.
Last Monday, BEPU had in a statement appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to their aid in tackling the insecurity bedeviling the council.
In that statement, the group also disclosed how bandits have placed a levy of N10million on farming communities in the local government or else they would be attacked.
