The Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU) in Kaduna State has demanded the inclusion  of its people in federal government’s appointments.

The union said the absence of such representation contradicts the principles of fairness, national integration and inclusive governance.

Chairman of BEPU, Dr. Isah Muhammad, in an interview with newsmen yesterday in Kaduna, noted that the people of Birnin Gwari  had consistently demonstrated loyalty and commitment to peace, urging the government not to mistake their patience for complacency.

He lamented the continued neglect of critical infrastructure in the area which he said had resulted in loss of lives, financial hardships for commuters, and increased security risks.

He also lamented the shortage of teachers in primary and secondary schools across Birnin Gwari local government. According to the chairman, many schools lack teachers in core subjects, exacerbating educational decline.
